Spotify has the Potential to End Illegal Downloading
Kids are really good at illegally downloading music and there is very little that music industry executives have been able to do about the problem thus far. In fact it seems that there is absolutely no way that they can return consumers from the grips of piracy and back down the straight and narrow path of being consumers and buying a lot of a records. The biggest problem is that illegal music downloads are so very easy to come by and kids always choose the option that provides the simplest experience and a low price. Illegal downloading achieves this and the music industry has thus far not been able to reduce the number of people downloading music without permission.
The music industry’s main method of attack thus far has been to sue music fans who download music illegally. But I don’t think that this method of downloading music will have any impact on people, except for those who get prosecuted and become forced to pay for the illegal downloads. But a new service offers the potential for artists to be compensated for their work, and the music industry has a chance of recouping some of the lost billions that piracy has potentially cost them.
Spotify is an application that you can download for you computer which allows you stream almost millions of songs. The music is not hosted on your hard-drived and can only be accessed while you are online, streamed from the internet. It is a service that you must pay for, so you must work out if your investments, perhaps with Galvan research, have been sufficiently good to justify spending a monthly amount for unlimited music streaming privileges. Thus far the signs are good. Lots of people are willing to pay for the service when it doesn’t cost too much money and when it is able to be accessed in quicker fashion than illegal downloads.
